Japan Nikkei ends 1.42% higher
Capital MarketJapan share market finished session flat on Tuesday, 17 April 2018, helped by gains on Wall Street overnight and a weaker yen. Among TSE 33 issues, marine transportation, construction and real estate-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index ended up 1.42%, or 310.61 points to 22,158.20. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 1.14%, or 19.69 points, at 1,749.67. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2775 to 601 and 176 ended unchanged. The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 5.80% to 16.88 a new 1-month low.
