Japan Nikkei ends flat ahead of US-Japan summit
Capital MarketJapan share market finished session flat on Tuesday, 17 April 2018, as investors retreated to the sidelines to await the outcome of a US-Japan summit starting later today expected to be dominated by trade tensions and North Korea. Among TSE 33 issues, food and retail issues comprised notable advancers, while securities and machinery issues were among those that declined the most by the close of play. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index ended up 0.06% or 12.06 points to 21,847.59. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.36% or 6.24 points at 1,729.98.
