Kajaria Ceramics sizzles after large bulk deal

Kajaria Ceramics rose 2.53% to Rs 730.75 at 12:35 IST on BSE after a large bulk deal of 40.57 lakh shares was executed on the scrip at Rs 722 per share at 09:19 IST on BSE.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 190.10 points, or 0.57%, to 33,555.42

Bulk deal boosted volume on the scrip. On BSE, so far 50.91 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with average daily volume of 87,630 shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 740 and a low of Rs 714.25 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 787.55 on 10 May 2017. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 437.30 on 30 December 2016.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past 30 days till 20 November 2017, rising 0.56% compared with 2.99% rise in the Sensex. The scrip, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 11.42% as against Sensex's 6.61% rise. The scrip also outperformed the market in past one year, surging 50.12% as against Sensex's 29.48% rise.

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 15.89 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.

On a consolidated basis, net profit of Kajaria Ceramics rose 0.13% to Rs 63.70 crore on 6.68% rise in net sales to Rs 671.23 crore in Q2 September 2017 over Q2 September 2016.
