Kharif Crop Sowing Crosses 563 Lakh Hectare so far

The total sown area as on 17th July, as per reports received from States, stands at 563.35 lakh hectare as compared to 346.34 lakh hectare at this time last year.

It is reported that rice has been sown/transplanted in 132.11 lakh ha, pulses in 55.99 lakh ha, coarse cereals in 102.35 lakh hectare, oilseeds in 127.12 lakh ha and cotton in 93.22 lakh ha.
