Lupin inches up after launching generic skin cream in US

Lupin was up 0.43% at Rs 774.05 after the company announced the launch of Hydrocortisone Valerate cream in the US.

Lupin's Hydrocortisone Valerate Cream USP, 0.2%, is the generic equivalent of Westcort Cream, 0.2%, of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Inc. It is indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid responsive dermatoses in adult patients.

According to IQVIA MAT, Hydrocortisone Valerate Cream had an annual sales of $11.5 million in the US markets.

In a separate announcement today, Lupin announced the launch of "ADHERO," a new connec ted smart device for metered-dose inhalers. This first-of-its- kind device is designed to help pat ients with chronic respiratory diseases track their MDI usage and facilitate improved adherence to therapy.

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 index was trading 54.6 points lower at 11,913.80.

Lupin is engaged in producing, developing and marketing a range of branded and generic formulations, biotechnology products and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) across the world.
