Mindtree gains after launching global learning & delivery center in Odisha

Mindtree rose 1.79% to Rs 1,496.15 at 9:30 IST on BSE after the company announced the launch of a state-of-the-art global learning & delivery center at Bhubaneshwar in Odisha.

The company made announcement after market hours yesterday, 22 September 2015.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 159.89 points, or 0.62% to 25,491.95.

On BSE, so far 1,517 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 17,311 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 1,499 and a low of Rs 1,472.25 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 1,589.10 on 9 April 2015. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 967 on 17 October 2014.

The large-cap IT services company has an equity capital of Rs 83.83 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Mindtree said the facility was named Mindtree Kalinga. Built on a 20-acre campus, Mindtree Kalinga takes young engineers through a 90-day learning program to create a digital workforce for the future, Mindtree said in a statement. Apart from the Global Learning Center, Mindtree Kalinga will be a Center of Excellence for the insurance domain. It will provide specialized and innovative solutions to digitally transform Mindtree's global insurance industry clients. Mindtree Kalinga, with an investment of $20 million in the construction of its first phase, is designed to reflect a blend of the digital future of man with ancient Odishan architecture at the core.

Meanwhile, Mindtree had made announcement after market hours on 21 September 2015 that MoInlycke Health Care selected the company to enhance its business efficiency using the SAP application suite. Mindtree said the company's SAP application suite will help MoInlycke Health Care, a world-leading provider of single-use surgical and wound care solutions, optimize the time to market its products.

Mindtree's consolidated net profit rose 7.38% to Rs 138.20 crore on 7.43% rise in total income to Rs 1019 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q4 March 2015.
