Motherson Sumi Systems fell 4.16% to Rs 410.40 at 13:02 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit fell 25.20% to Rs 104.44 crore on 10.67% increase in total income to Rs 8021.54 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.
The result was announced during trading hours today, 10 November 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 91.02 points, or 0.33%, to 27,777.61.
On BSE, so far 3.65 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 2.33 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 438 and a low of Rs 406.25 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 448 on 12 September 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 166.65 on 25 November 2013.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 7 November 2014, rising 9.89% compared with 6.08% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 17.51% as against Sensex's 8.91% rise.

The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 88.19 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.
Consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 4.78% to Rs 724 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.
Commenting on company's performance, V.C. Sehgal, Chairman, Motherson Sumi Systems said, "The company has shown exemplary performance. As a testimony to trust our customers have reposed in us, we have received new orders worth Euro 1.3 Bn. Further, we are setting up 14 new plants funded from internal accurals to serve our customers. The prudent financial management of the company is demonstrated by self-sustaining and funding of SMR & SMP. We continue strong focus towards improving our ROCE performance."
Motherson Sumi Systems supplies components, modules and systems to the automotive sector. Its business portfolio encompasses electrical distribution system (EDS), polymer products and complete module solutions. It is the largest supplier of EDS to the Indian automotive industry.
