A bulk deal of 30 lakh shares was executed on the National Aluminium Company (Nalco) counter at Rs 36.60 per share at 11:14 IST on BSE today, 24 January 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 180.02 points, or 0.84%, to 21,193.64
Bulk deal boosted volume on the stock. On BSE, so far 30.30 lakh shares were traded in the counter compared with average volume of 98,530 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock turned volatile after the bulk deal. The stock rose as much as 1.63% at the day's high of Rs 37.30 so far during the day. The stock fell as much as 1.22% at the day's low of Rs 36.25 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 51.20 on 30 January 2013. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 24.10 on 6 August 2013.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 23 January 2014, falling 4.43% compared with the Sensex's 1.29% rise. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 2.09% as against Sensex's 2.92% rise.
The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 1288.62 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.
