Turnover on NSE's F&O segment spurts
The April 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9,179.95, at a premium of 22.55 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 9,203.45 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 7.03 lakh crore from Rs 6 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index lost 52.65 points or 0.57% to settle at 9,150.80, its lowest closing level since 29 March 2017.
Infosys, Indiabulls Real Estate, Tata Steel, Vedanta and Punjab National Bank (PNB) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.
Infosys April 2017 futures traded at 937.05, at a premium over spot closing of 932.90. Indiabulls Real Estate April 2017 futures traded at 107.10, at a premium over spot closing of 10660. Tata Steel April 2017 futures traded at 465, at a premium over spot closing of 462.85.
Vedanta April 2017 futures traded at 245, at a premium over spot closing of 243.95. PNB April 2017 futures traded at 155, at a discount from spot closing of 155.90.
