Nifty April 2022 futures trades at premium; India VIX drops 5%

Reliance Industries (RIL), HDFC Bank and Infosys most active in futures segment.

The Nifty April 2022 futures were at 17,172.85, a premium of 36.30 points as compared with the Nifty's closing of 17,136.55 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 118.51 lakh crore compared with Rs 99.17 lakh crore reported in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 177.90 points or 1.05% to settle at 17,136.55.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, dropped 5.57% to 18.6725.

Reliance Industries (RIL), HDFC Bank and Infosys were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.
