Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The April 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 7,640, a premium of 25.65 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7,614.35 in the cash market. The Nifty May 2016 futures traded at 7,671.75, a premium of 57.40 points compared with the spot closing for the index.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) futures and options (F&O) totaled Rs 1.79 lakh crore, which was lower than turnover of Rs 2.83 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 11.15 points or 0.15% to settle at 7,614.35, its highest closing level since 4 April 2016.
Tata Steel, State Bank of India (SBI), Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, and Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. Tata Steel April 2016 futures traded at 329.80, at a premium compared with spot closing of 328.35. SBI April 2016 futures traded at 184.45, at a premium compared with spot closing of 183.80. Yes Bank April 2016 futures traded at 842, at a premium compared with spot closing of 837.
ICICI Bank April 2016 futures traded at 224, at a premium compared with spot closing of 223. RInfra April 2016 futures traded at 548.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 546.
The April 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 April 2016. The May 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 26 May 2016.
