Nifty June futures continue trading at discount

India VIX cools 3% to 28.10

The Nifty July 2020 futures were at 10,396.55, a discount of 33.5 points compared with the spot closing at 10,430.05.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was at Rs 16.59 lakh crore compared with Rs 10.79 lakh crore in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rallied 127.95 points or 1.24% to 10,430.05.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, slumped 3.46% to 28.1075.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 30 July 2020 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 20.49 lakh at the 11,500 strike price. Maximum put OI of 28.97 lakh contracts was seen at 10,000 strike price.

Reliance Industries (RIL), Bajaj Finance and Axis Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. RIL July 2020 futures were at 1,735.85, compared with spot closing price of 1736.25. Bajaj Finance July 2020 futures were at 2,957 compared with spot closing price of 2949. Axis Bank July 2020 futures were at 433.65, compared with spot closing price of 432.45.
