Nifty May 2017 futures at small premium

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises

The May 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9,418.55, a premium of 11.25 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 9,407.30 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 4.54 lakh crore from Rs 3.30 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index surged 90.45 points or 0.97% to settle at 9,407.30, a record closing high for the index.

Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries (RIL), Axis Bank, Canara Bank and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

Bharti Airtel May 2017 futures traded at 372.25, at a discount from spot closing of 372.80. RIL May 2017 futures traded at 1359.55, near its spot closing of 1359.20. Axis Bank May 2017 futures traded at 526, near spot closing of 525.60.

Canara Bank May 2017 futures traded at 368.20, at a discount from spot closing of 368.90. ICICI Bank May 2017 futures traded at 300.10, at a premium over spot closing of 298.90.

The May 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 25 May 2017.
