Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises slightly
The May 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 7,733, a premium of 37.50 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7,735.50 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) futures and options (F&O) totaled Rs 1.97 lakh crore, slightly higher than turnover of Rs 1.9 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty gained 28.95 points or 0.38% to settle at 7,735.50, its highest closing level since 3 May 2016.
Yes Bank, Tata Steel, HDFC, Tata Motors and SKS Microfinance were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. Yes Bank May 2016 futures traded at 917.60, at a premium compared with spot closing of 912. Tata Steel May 2016 futures traded at 335.35, at a premium compared with spot closing of 333. HDFC May 2016 futures traded at 1,168.05, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,163.20.
Tata Motors May 2016 futures traded at 390.45, at a premium compared with spot closing of 389.70. SKS Microfinance May 2016 futures traded at 607.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 602.50.
The May 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 26 May 2016.
