Turnover on NSE's F&O segment falls
The October 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,703.30, at a small premium of 10.25 compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,693.05 in the cash market. The Nifty November 2016 futures traded at 8,746, a premium of 52.95 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment fell to Rs 3.26 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 6.38 lakh crore registered yesterday, 20 October 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 6.35 points or 0.07% to settle at 8,693.05, its lowest closing level since 19 October 2016.
Reliance Industries (RIL), Biocon, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank and Vedanta were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. RIL October 2016 futures traded at 1,068.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,065. Biocon October 2016 futures traded at 1,005.80, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,003. ICICI Bank October 2016 futures traded at 278.40, at a premium compared with spot closing of 277.95.
Yes Bank October 2016 futures traded at 1,297.40, at a discount compared with spot closing of 1,315.20. Vedanta October 2016 futures traded at 203.75, at a premium compared with spot closing of 203.10.
The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016. The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016.
