Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The October 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8745, premium of 36.20 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8708.80 in the cash market. The Nifty November 2016 futures traded at 8781.60, a premium of 72.80 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 2.08 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.51 lakh crore registered on Friday, 7 October 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 11.20 points or 0.13% to settle at 8.708.80, its highest closing level since 6 October 2016.
Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Vedanta, Tata Communications and Sun TV Network were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Tata Steel October 2016 futures traded at 419.75, near spot closing of 419.30. JSW Steel October 2016 futures traded at 1816.70, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1812.50. Vedanta October 2016 futures traded at 200.20, near spot closing of 199.75.
Tata Communications October 2016 futures traded at 644.05, at a premium compared with spot closing of 640.95. Sun TV Network October 2016 futures traded at 558.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 556.
The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016. The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016.
