F&O turnover drops
The September 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,832.90, at a small premium of 1.35 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8,831.55 in the cash market. The Nifty October 2016 futures traded at 8,878.60, a premium of 47.05 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment fell to Rs 3.36 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 6.19 lakh crore registered yesterday, 22 September 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty fell 35.90 points or 0.4% to settle at 8,831.55, its lowest closing level since 21 September 2016.
Axis Bank, Bharti Infratel, Reliance Capital, Reliance Infrastructure, and Reliance Industries (RIL) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Axis Bank September 2016 futures traded at 558.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 556.45. Bharti Infratel September 2016 futures traded at 850, unchanged at spot closing of 850. Reliance Capital September 2016 futures traded at 582.50, at a premium over spot closing of 581.
Reliance Infrastructure September 2016 futures traded at 608, at a premium compared with spot closing of 607.25. RIL September 2016 futures traded at 1,101.95, at a premium over spot closing of 1,101.60.
The September 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 September 2016. The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016.
