F&O turnover declines slightly
The September 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,803, at a premium of 27.10 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8,775.90 in the cash market. The Nifty October 2016 futures traded at 8,842, a premium of 66.10 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped slightly to Rs 2.28 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.31 lakh crore registered yesterday, 19 September 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty fell 32.50 points or 0.37% to settle at 8,775.90, its lowest closing level since 15 September 2016.
Castrol India, Yes Bank, Tata Steel, Reliance Infrastructure and Biocon were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Castrol India September 2016 futures traded at 460.35, at a premium compared with spot closing of 459.70. Yes Bank September 2016 futures traded at 1,209, at a premium over spot closing of 1,207. Tata Steel September 2016 futures traded at 367, at a premium over spot closing of 365.25.
Reliance Infrastructure September 2016 futures traded at 593.90, at a premium compared with spot closing of 592.55. Biocon September 2016 futures traded at 962.80, at a premium over spot closing of 957.90.
The September 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 September 2016. The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016.
