Lot size of 4 F&O stocks reduced
As part of a periodic review, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced revision in the market lot of derivatives contracts on individual stocks. The lot size of a total of 151 stocks in the futures & options (F&O) segment has been revised upwards. The lot size of a total of 4 stocks has been revised downwards and for 2 stocks the lot size has been kept unchanged.
Among key stocks, the lot size of State Bank of India (SBI) has been raised to 1,875 from existing 1,000. The lot of Reliance Industries (RIL) has been doubled to 500 from 250. The lot size of ICICI Bank has been raised to 1,625 from 1,000 and that of Axis Bank has been hiked to 875 from 500. The lot size of HDFC Bank has been raised to 475 from 250 and the lot size of HDFC has been hiked to 400 from 250.
The lot size of Bharti Airtel has been raised to 1,200 from 1,000 and that of DLF has been raised to 4,475 from 2,000. The lot size of Infosys has been doubled to 500 from 250. ITC's lot size in the F&O segment has been raised to 1,575 from existing 1,000. The lot size of L&T has been hiked to 275 from 125.
Among the handful of stocks where the lot size has been revised downwards, Eicher Motors' lot size has been cut to 25 from existing 125. The lot size of Bosch has been reduced to 25 from 125 and that of MRF has been cut to 15 from 125. The lot size of Page Industries has been revised downwards to 50 from 125.
The changes in the lot size will take effect from 28 August 2015. Contracts with maturity of September 2015 and October 2015 will continue to have the existing market lots until the expiry of F&O contracts for these two months.
