Oilmeal Exports Fall 25% In First Ten Months Of Current Fiscal

The Solvent Extractors' Association (SEA) of India has compiled the export data for export of oilmeals for the month of February 2020. The export of oilmeals during February 2020 is provisionally reported at 76,017 tons compared to 294,510 tons in February, 2019 i.e. down by 74%. The overall export of oilmeals during Apr.'19 to Feb.'20 is reported at 2,200,690 tons compared to 2,941,971 tons in Apr.'18-Feb.'19 i.e. down by 25%. This is mainly due to better price realization for oilmeals in domestic market compared to export realization, coupled with increased domestic consumption resulted in to lower export. The export is sharp increased in export of castormeal which is use as organic fertiliser, jumped by nearly 41% to 505,194 tons from 359,351 tons in the same period of last year.
