Piramal Enterprises leads gainers in 'A' group

Diversified firm Piramal Enterprises spurted 9.38% to Rs 601.75, extending recent gains triggered by the company's subsidiary, Decision Resources Group, acquiring UK-based market analytics and market access solutions firm Abacus International. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. The stock hit a record high of Rs 617.80 in intraday today, 11 December 2012.

Piramal Enterprises made the announcement after market hours on Monday, 3 December 2012. The stock rose 1.32% to Rs 499.10 on Tuesday, 4 December 2012. The stock has risen 22.16% in the preceding six sessions from Rs 492.60 on 3 December 2012.

Private air carrier Jet Airways (India) rose 4.18% to Rs 537.60. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Thermal power producer Adani Power rose 4.11% to Rs 63.30. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Madras Cements rose 3.91% to Rs 213.80. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Beer maker United Breweries rose 3.56% to Rs 952.35. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
