Power Grid Corporation of India may decline on weak Q2 results

Among prominent earnings, Tata Steel, BPCL, Eicher Motors, Max India, National Aluminium Company, Oracle Financial Services Software, Oil India, and Reliance Infrastructure will announce July-September quarterly results today, 12 November 2014.

Power Grid Corporation of India reported 3.06% fall in net profit to Rs 1201.27 crore on 4.99% rise in total income to Rs 4309.26 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. The Q2 result was announced after market hours on Tuesday, 11 November 2014.

Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel) after market hours on Tuesday, 11 November 2014 said that the company has achieved yet another landmark in its After-Market-Service business by successfully renovating and modernizing (R&M) Unit-2 (110 megawatt) at Muzaftarpur Thermal Power Station (TPS) Plant of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam (KBUNL - a Joint Venture of NTPC and BSPGCL) in Bihar.

Following the successful R&M, the unit has been running on full capacity, ensuring addition of 110 megawatt to the state of Bihar. The unit was originally supplied and commissioned by BHEL in March 1986.

With this, the working life of the machine has been extended by another 15-20 year, Bhel said. This follows the successful completion of R&M work of Unit-1 at Muzaffarpur TPS, which was commissioned in September, 2013 by Bhel and was dedicated to the state in November 2013.

On a consolidated basis, IL&FS Transportation Networks reported 11.08% fall in net profit to Rs 98.94 crore on 15.02% rise in total income to Rs 1572.84 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.

HMT reported net loss of Rs 24.68 crore in Q2 September 2014, lower than net loss of Rs 40.12 crore in Q2 September 2013. Total income from operations (net) rose 62.73% to Rs 17.51 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.

Monnet Ispat & Energy announced before market hours that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the company will be held on 14 November 2014, to consider the matter of raising equity through either rights issue or preferential allotment route and if approved, to pass enabling resolutions such as obtaining the approval of shareholders for increase of authorised capital, formation of and authorization to Special Committee and such other allied matters.

Prestige Estates Projects' net profit rose 24.82% to Rs 96.89 crore on 15.91% rise in total income to Rs 584.32 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. The Q2 result was announced after market hours on Tuesday, 11 November 2014.

Bayer CropScience's net profit rose 51.15% to Rs 176.10 crore on 17.65% rise in total income to Rs 1268.70 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. The Q2 result was announced after market hours on Tuesday, 11 November 2014.
