Provision of Rs 65000 crore has been made in the budget FY2018-19 for infusion
Government of India (GoI) announced recapitalization of Public Sector Banks (PSBs) to the tune of Rs 2.11 lakh crore in October 2017, through infusion of capital by the Government and raising of capital by banks from the markets.The Government infused Rs 88139 crore in PSBs during financial year (FY) 2017-18 after the recapitalization announcement and provision of Rs 65000 crore has been made in the budget for FY2018-19 for infusion.
Since the recapitalization announcement till November 2018, PSBs have been recapitalized to the tune of Rs 128861 crore through infusion and mobilization of capital from the market.
