Reliance Power rose 1.57% to Rs 87.25 at 10:20 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit rose 1% to Rs 269 crore on 11% rise in total income to Rs 1400 crore in Q4 March 2014 over Q4 March 2013.
The result was announced after market hours on Monday, 19 May 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 91.63 points, or 0.38%, to 24,454.68.
On BSE, so far 21.01 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 25.63 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 89.50 so far during the day, which is also a 52-week high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 85.55 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 60.10 on 4 February 2014.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 19 May 2014, rising 17.83% compared with 7.66% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 37.88% as against Sensex's 17.57% rise.

The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 2805.13 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
On a consolidated basis, Reliance Power's net profit rose 2% to Rs 1027 crore on 5% rise in total income to Rs 5546 crore in the year ended 31 March 2014 (FY 2014) over the year ended 31 March 2013 (FY 2013).
EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) rose 12% to Rs 1916 crore in FY 2014 over FY 2013.
Meanwhile, Reliance Power announced during trading hours today, 20 May 2014, that the fourth 660 megawatts (MW) unit of the 3,960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) has commenced power generation thus making 2,640 MW capacity operational at the project. Balance two units are in advanced stages of construction and will be commissioned over the next few months.
The Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project is the largest integrated power plant and coal mining project in the world. Coal production has already commenced from the 20 million tonnes Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines associated with the power project. With this unit, Reliance Powers generation capacity has increased to 4.525 MW which includes 4,440 MW of thermal capacity and 85 MW of renewable energy based capacity, the company said in a statement.
