Siemens gains on new order win

Siemens rose 0.72% to Rs 891.80 at 10:31 IST on BSE after the company said it recently won an order worth approximately Rs 317 crore from Bihar Grid Company.

The announcement was made after market hours on Friday, 12 December 2014.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 7.71 points or 0.03% at 27,342.97

On BSE, so far 14,180 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 40,720 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock was volatile. The stock hit a high of Rs 896.60 and a low of Rs 885.40 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,010 on 4 July 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 512 on 30 January 2014.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 12 December 2014, rising 0.32% compared with 2.35% fall in the Sensex. The scrip had, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 0.21% as against Sensex's 1.07% rise.

The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 71.22 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Siemens said it recently won an order worth approximately Rs 317 crore from Bihar Grid Company (BGCL), a joint venture between Bihar State Power Holding Company and Power Grid Corporation of India. This is the company's first GIS substation order from BGCL and also marks the establishment of the first 220 kV GIS in the state of Bihar, Siemens said.

Siemens reported 192.8% surge in net profit to Rs 436.79 crore on 8.8% rise in total income to Rs 3616.80 crore in Q4 September 2014 over Q4 September 2013.
