Sobha Developers leads gainers in 'A' group

Suzlon Energy, Piramal Enterprises, Berger Paints and Amara Raja Batteries are among the other gainers

Sobha Developers spurted 4.96% to Rs 452.05 and topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. Sobha Developers announces its Q1 June 2014 results on Friday, 8 August 2014.

Suzlon Energy gained 4.79% to Rs 24.05. It was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Piramal Enterprises jumped 4.43% to Rs 672.55 and stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. On a consolidated basis, the company reported net profit of Rs 2896.32 crore in Q1 June 2014 as compared to net loss of Rs 146.66 crore in Q1 June 2013. Total income rose 18.32% to Rs 1282.90 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q1 June 2013. The Q1 June 2014 net profit was boosted by exceptional item of Rs 3036.08 crore representing gain on sale of investment in Vodafone India. The result was announced during market hours today, 6 August 2014.

Berger Paints surged 3.84% to Rs 318.90 and was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock scaled record high of Rs 321.05 in intraday trade today, 6 August 2014.

Amara Raja Batteries rose 3.71% to Rs 516.60 and was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock scaled record high of Rs 520.40 in intraday trade today, 6 August 2014. The company's net profit rose 8.16% to Rs 106 crore on 15.55% growth in net sales excluding other operating income to Rs 1025 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q1 June 2013. The Q1 result was announced during market hours today, 6 August 2014.
