Steel Authority of India Ltd gained 3.04% today to trade at Rs 113.7. The S&P BSE Metal index is up 0.35% to quote at 19941.78. The index is down 1.91 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Tata Steel Ltd increased 0.81% and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd added 0.66% on the day. The S&P BSE Metal index went up 135.53 % over last one year compared to the 56.03% surge in benchmark SENSEX.

On the BSE, 2.59 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 24.5 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 151.1 on 10 May 2021. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 32.65 on 15 Oct 2020.
