Symphony hits the roof on strong Q4 result

Symphony was frozen in the 20% upper circuit filter at Rs 310.10 at 10:57 IST on BSE, extending Tuesday's surge triggered by strong Q4 result.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 4.28 points or 0.02% to 17,231.90

On BSE, 5.11 lakh shares were traded with pending buy orders of 6,688 shares at maximum limit. The counter has an average daily volume of 8,391 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 310.10 and a low of Rs 251.65 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 173 on 4 June 2012. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 1,250 on 15 February 2012.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 31 July 2012, gaining 31.43% compared with the Sensex's 1.11% fall. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, surging 12.47% as against Sensex's 0.48% decline.

The company has an equity capital of Rs 7 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

The Symphony stock surged 35.62% in two trading sessions from Rs 228.65 on Monday, 30 August 2012 after the company reported 67.5% spurt in net profit to Rs 19.67 crore on a 51.7% surge in net sales to Rs 87.06 crore in Q4 June 2012 over Q4 June 2011. The result was announced during market hours on Tuesday, 31 July 2012.

Symphony's consolidated net profit rose 3.7% to Rs 53.10 crore on 7.9% rise in net sales to Rs 313.39 crore in the year ended June 2012 over the year ended June 2011.

Symphony's board of directors at its meeting held on Tuesday, 31 July 2012, recommended dividend of Rs 3 per share over and above a silver jubilee year special dividend of Rs 2.50 per share for the year ended on 30 June 2012.
