Tata Metaliks moves higher after strong Q2 earnings

Tata Metaliks rose 2.96% to Rs 763.10 at 10:16 IST on BSE after net profit surged 54.4% to Rs 33.55 crore on 39.5% growth in net sales to Rs 450.24 crore in Q2 September 2017 over Q2 September 2016.

The result was announced after market hours on Friday, 27 October 2017.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 155.48 points or 0.47% at 33,312.70. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index advanced 193.24 points or 1.12% at 17,496.90, outperforming the Sensex.

On the BSE, 69,000 shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 44,513 shares in the past one quarter. The stock had hit a high of Rs 783.75 and a low of Rs 758 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 819.50 on 8 September 2017 and a 52-week low of Rs 280 on 23 November 2016.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 25.29 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Tata Metaliks is a producer of foundry grade pig iron.
