Tata Motors' consolidated net profit fell 15.56% to Rs 1877.30 crore on 26.9% growth in net revenue to Rs 36197.50 crore in Q2 September 2011 over Q2 September 2010.
The fall in net profit was primarily on account of incurring forex loss of Rs 438.96 crore due to revaluation of foreign currency loans on sharp rupee depreciation against the dollar. The company's EBIDTA (earnings before interest, depreciation, taxation and amortization) margin declined to 13.3% from 14.7% in Q2 September 2010.
