Turnover spurts on NSE's F&O segment

India VIX cools 5%

The Nifty April 2020 futures were at 9,200, a premium of 12.7 points compared with the spot closing at 9,187.30.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 11.05 lakh crore compared with Rs 7.77 lakh crore reported in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index tumbled 205.85 points or 2.29% and closed at 9,187.30.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, slumped 4.9% to 42.98.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 30 April 2020 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 18.12 lakh at the 10,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 26.1 lakh contracts was seen at 9,000 strike price.

Reliance Industries (RIL), ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finance were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. RIL April 2020 futures were at 1,359.25, compared with spot closing price of 1359. ICICI Bank April 2020 futures were at 337.35 compared with spot closing price of 336.50. Bajaj Finance April 2020 futures were at 2,163.90, compared with spot closing price of 2155.
