Voltas hits 52-week high after strong Q1 earnings

Voltas surged 5.89% to Rs 233.75 at 13:07 IST on BSE, with the stock extending recent rally triggered by the company reporting strong Q1 earnings.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 163.74 points or 0.63% at 26,266.97.

On BSE, so far 6.25 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 3.90 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 236.55 so far during the day, which is a 52-week high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 221 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 62.70 on 4 September 2013.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 14 August 2014, surging 16.98% compared with Sensex's 4.38% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, advancing 24.37% as against Sensex's 9.61% rise.

The mid-cap company has equity capital of Rs 33.09 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.
