Volumes jump at ABG Shipyard counter

SpiceJet, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company and Standard Chartered PLC are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 25 April 2013.

ABG Shipyard clocked volume of 2.04 lakh shares by 13:03 IST on BSE, a 6.03-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 34,000 shares. The stock rose 0.66% to Rs 320.70.

SpiceJet notched up volume of 1.32 crore shares, a 5.79-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 22.89 lakh shares. The stock surged 12.96% to Rs 35.30.

Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services saw volume of 8.86 lakh shares, a 5.47-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.62 lakh shares. The stock jumped 10.34% to Rs 227.35 after consolidated net profit rose 42.89% to Rs 346.36 crore on 33.35% growth in total income to Rs 1189.32 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012. The company announced Q4 results after market hours on Tuesday, 23 April 2013. The stock hit a record high of Rs 247.25 in intraday today, 25 April 2013.

Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company clocked volume of 12.06 lakh shares, a 5.28-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 2.29 lakh shares. The stock rose 2.73% to Rs 88.40.

Standard Chartered PLC saw volume of 9.74 lakh shares, a 3.53-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 2.76 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.98% to Rs 116.05.
