Volumes jump at Prism Cement counter

Chennai Petroleum Corporation, Infinite Computer Solutions (India), Wipro and Welspun India are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 25 May 2015.

Prism Cement clocked volume of 32.35 lakh shares by 14:00 IST on BSE, a 55.45-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 58,000 shares. The stock advanced 3.54% at Rs 103.80.

Chennai Petroleum Corporation notched up volume of 13.69 lakh shares, a 20.06-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 68,000 shares. The stock jumped 19.76% at Rs 108.20. The company's net profit surged 631.92% to Rs 364.57 crore on 33.85% decline in net total income from operations to Rs 8823.95 crore in Q4 March 2015 over Q4 March 2014. The company announced results during market hours today, 25 May 2015. Chennai Petroleum Corporation said that the board of directors of the company at its meeting held on 23 May 2015, has accorded approval for issue of maximum number of 100 crore non-convertible cumulative redeemable preference shares in more than one tranche, for cash at par on private placement preferential allotment basis to Indian Oil Corporation, the holding company, subject to the approval of the shareholders of the company

Infinite Computer Solutions (India) saw volume of 4.79 lakh shares, a 7.49-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 64,000 shares. The stock plunged 17.02% at Rs 174.

Wipro clocked volume of 3.21 lakh shares, a 3.07-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.05 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.42% at Rs 563.

Welspun India saw volume of 1.18 lakh shares, a 2.1-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 56,000 shares. The stock gained 0.4% at Rs 558.
