Volumes jump at Tata Communications counter

Nestle India, Syndicate Bank, Wipro and Indiabulls Housing Finance are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 29 July 2013.

Tata Communications clocked volume of 10.32 lakh shares by 14:15 IST on BSE, a 6.02-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.71 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.79% to Rs 161.65 after the company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 94.52 crore in Q1 June 2013, as against net loss of Rs 142.86 crore in Q1 June 2012. Gross revenue rose 10% to Rs 4498 crore in Q1 June 2013 over Q1 June 2012. The result was announced after market hours on Friday, 26 July 2013.

Nestle India notched up volume of 25,000 shares, a 5.66-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 4,000 shares. The stock fell 0.87% to Rs 5,400.10 after net profit rose 10.3% to Rs 271.38 crore on 11.4% growth in net sales to Rs 2213.21 crore in Q2 June 2013 over Q2 June 2012. The result was announced after market hours on Friday, 26 July 2013.

Syndicate Bank saw volume of 5.76 lakh shares, a 5.15-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.12 lakh shares. The stock tumbled 6.01% to Rs 88.30.

Wipro clocked volume of 6.27 lakh shares, a 4.15-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.51 lakh shares. The stock jumped 5.67% to Rs 404.50.

Indiabulls Housing Finance saw volume of 21.26 lakh shares, a 3.22-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 6.61 lakh shares. The stock tumbled 5% to Rs 230.90.
