Volumes jump at Torrent Power counter

Dewan Housing Finance Corporation, P I Industries, CESC and Astrazeneca Pharma India are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 28 May 2013.

Torrent Power clocked volume of 20.92 lakh shares by 13:37 IST on BSE, a 58.76-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 36,000 shares. The stock rose 1.58% to Rs 134.80.

Dewan Housing Finance Corporation notched up volume of 5.06 lakh shares, a 39.28-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 13,000 shares. The stock rose 3.37% to Rs 170.

P I Industries saw volume of 5.08 lakh shares, a 27.82-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 18,000 shares. The stock rose 0.52% at Rs 125.

CESC clocked volume of 1.70 lakh shares, a 8.71-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 19,000 shares. The stock rose 1.73% to Rs 334.70.

Astrazeneca Pharma India saw volume of 4.25 lakh shares, a 8.24-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 52,000 shares. The stock tumbled 14.27% at Rs 684.70 after the company launched its offer-for-sale at a floor price of Rs 490 per share. The promoter of the company, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals AB Sweden, has offered to sell 37.49 lakh shares, or 15% of the total equity of the company, through offer-for-sale (OFS) route on stock exchanges today, 28 May 2013. Promoter fixed a floor price of Rs 490 per share, which is 38.65% discount to the stock's closing price of Rs 798.65 on Monday, 27 May 2013.
