Volumes jump in Arshiya International counter

Arshiya International clocked volume of 16.94 lakh shares by 12:54 IST on BSE, a 58.50-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 29,000 shares. The stock hit a lower circuit limit of 20% to hit a 52-week low of Rs 97.40. The stock slumped on media reports of financial irregularities in the company.

C Mahendra Exports notched up volume of 7.05 lakh shares, a 29.68-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 24,000 shares. The stock tumbled 17.50% to Rs 73.55.

Havells India saw volume of 1.37 lakh shares, a 9.26-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 15,000 shares. The stock jumped 4.39% to Rs 677.60. The stock hit a record high of Rs 683.90 in intraday today, 9 January 2013. The stock extended recent gains triggered by the company revising trademark license agreement with one of its promoter group firms that owns the 'Havells' brand. Havells India made the announcement before market hours on Monday, 7 January 2013.
