Zee Entertainment Enterprises rose 3.04% to Rs 322.35 at 15:20 IST on BSE after the company's consolidated net profit fell 3.69% to Rs 227.55 crore on 1.19% rise in total income to Rs 1170.03 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.
The company announced Q2 results during market hours today, 17 October 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 88.28 points or 0.34% at 26,087.52.
On BSE, so far 3.09 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 2.15 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 331.20, also a 52-week high for the stock. The stock hit a low of Rs 311 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 242.65 on 17 October 2013.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 16 October 2014, rising 9.83% compared with 1.86% fall in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 4.2% as against Sensex's 1.76% rise.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises' (ZEEL) consolidated operating profit (EBITDA) rose 3.2% to Rs 320.5 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) margin stood at 28.7% and net profit margin stood at 20.3% in Q2 September 2014.
Advertising revenue rose 7.3% to Rs 625.90 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. Excluding sports business, advertising revenues growth is in low teens. Total subscription revenues were Rs 424.50 crore in Q2 September 2014. The underlying growth in domestic subscription revenue is in high single digits and international subscription revenue if in low single digits in constant currency terms. During Q2 September 2014, domestic subscription revenues stood at Rs 337.30 crore while international subscription revenues were Rs 87.20 crore.
In consolidated financial, due to change in arrangement with various operators across territories, subscription revenue for the current period is accounted net of Subscription Management Service cost. This change has no impact on the profits for the quarter and half year ended 30 September 2014. Accordingly previous periods figures are not comparable with that of current period.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises said that the board of directors of the company at its meeting held today, 17 October 2014, inter alia, has approved re-appointment of Mr. Punit Goenka as Managing Director & CEO of the company for a period of 5 years with effect from 1 January 2015, upon expiry of his current term of appointment on 31 December 2014.
