At least 10 people were killed and 30 injured when a truck carrying people from a wedding function overturned in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district on Friday.
The people were returning from a wedding function from Narayanpur area to Damkasa area when the driver lost control over the truck, which was carrying 50 people.
Health Secretary R.Prasanna said the injured were being sent to Raipur and the toll was likely to rise.
Chief Minister Raman Singh has announced compensation of Rs.25,000 for the next of kin of the deceased. He has also directed that a chopper take the injured to Raipur.
