At least 13 people were killed and 40 others wounded in two bomb attacks in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad Monday evening, a police source said.
A car bomb went off near a parking garage in Shaab district of Baghdad in the evening, leaving 12 people killed and 32 others wounded. Toll could rise, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Also in the Shaab district, a civilian was killed and eight others injured when a bomb exploded inside a small bus, the source added.
Iraq has been witnessing some of the worst violence in years. Terrorism and violence have killed 5,576 civilians in the first half of this year, with 11,666 more wounded, according to a recent UN report.
