One of the convicts in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, Mustafa Dossa, is in serious condition in a city hospital due to heart and diabetes issues, official sources said here on Wednesday.
He was admitted to a hospital early on Wednesday after complaining of chest pain and is currently under treatment for hypertension, diabetes and related infections, the official said.
Dossa, who was convicted and found guilty for his role in the March 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, is awaiting the verdict of the Special Court on the quantum of punishment in the case.
On Tuesday, the Special Public Prosecutor Deepak Salve sought death sentence for Dossa for his role in the blasts during the arguments on the quantum of punishment.
Asked about rumours of Dossa's death during treatment, Salve said he was "not aware" of it.
