At least 20 people were killed in a major earthquake of magnitude 7.2 which hit Bohol in central Philippines Tuesday morning, a government agency said.
Among the victims, 15 people were killed in Cebu, four in Bohol and one person in Siquijor, said the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), reports Xinhua.
The earthquake at a depth of 33 km and measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale jolted Bohol and parts of the Visayas and Mindanao regions at 8.12 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
