As many as 23 candidates are in the fray for November 21 by-election to the Warangal Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana.
State chief electoral officer Bhanwarlal told reporters on Saturday that eight candidates withdrew their nominations, leaving 23 in the fray.
He said since 23 candidates were contesting, two two Electronic Voting Machined (EVMs) would be deployed in each polling booth.
For the first time, photographs of the candidates along with the names and their party symbols will be displayed.
The vacancy was caused by the resignation of Kadiam Srihari, who was inducted into the Telangana state cabinet and made deputy chief minister.
Counting of votes will be taken up on November 24.

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has fielded P. Dayakar for the by-election. The main Congress party has nominated former central minister Sarve Satyanarayana as its candidate.
Devaiah is the candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is contesting the election in alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
The Left parties have jointly fielded Vinod Kumar while Suryaprakash is the candidate of YSR Congress Party.
