As many as 23 people were killed and about 40 injured Friday when a bus crashed in Haiti, authorities said.
The bus tipped and fell 15 metres down into a valley around 10 a.m. near Saint-Michel, some 50 km from capital Port-au-Prince, Xinhua quoted the authorities as saying. It was heading to the capital city when the driver lost its control due to brake failure.
Ramonde Jourdain, director of Civil Protection of the Central Department in this Caribbean country, said 18 bodies were found at the accident site, and five died in hospital.
