Nearly 30 crew will compete in the MRF Rally of Bangalore, the fifth round of the Indian National TSD Rally Championship, to be held here on Sunday.

At a media briefing on Thursday, organising Karnataka Motor Sports Club's (KMSC) president Shivu Shivappa said: "The KMSC has always been in the forefront when it comes to organising quality events. We are expecting a good turnout and I am sure many more will come since the rally is dedicated to our late chairman R. Bharath Raj."

"The intention of the Green Run Rally, which will be run simultaneously for local entrants, is to educate people about the need to preserve the environment and also being safe on the road."

For the National Championship category, 10 entries are expected from Kolkata, Mumbai, Erode, Chennai and Coimbatore apart from the local crew who will be vying for top honours in the Pro Expert and Pro Stock categories.

The rally, to be run over a distance of 160 km, will be flagged off on Sunday morning and will finish the same evening.

The grid includes National Championship leaders in Pro-Expert category S.K. Ajgar Ali and navigator Mohammad Musthafa M.K. and Sekar V. and Natarajan G., who currently head the Pro-Stock class.
