At least 30 people were killed and 42 injured in twin blasts in popular restaurants in Baidoa town of south-central Bay region of Somalia, officials said on Monday.
Mayor of Bay region Abdirashid Abdullahi said that most of those killed were civilians, Xinhua reported.
"The toll has risen to 30 with 42 injured, the explosions took place in busy restaurants in the city," Abdullahi said.
"We have arrested some people we believe they conducted the attacks. The troops are still launching operations in Baidoa town," the mayor added.
Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.
Monday's blasts come after two other massive explosions earlier killed 12 people and injured nearly 30 at a popular restaurant in Mogadishu.
