At least 35 people were reported missing after a landslide hit China's Fujian province on Sunday.
As many as seven people were injured after the landslide hit Taining county, Xinhua news agency reported.
Rescue operations were underway.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged maximum efforts to ensure a speedy rescue mission.
He demanded all-out efforts to search for buried and missing people, and stressed proper treatment for the injured.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang issued a written instruction calling for full efforts to search for and rescue those missing in the landslide.

The landslide was triggered by heavy downpours that unleashed 191.6 mm of rain in 24 hours starting on Saturday.
