At least 39 security members were killed in a suicide attack on army headquarters in Iraq's Anbar province, the media reported on Tuesday.
Two suicide bombers wearing explosive vests triggered blasts at the headquarters during a clash between the soldiers and Islamic State militants, Xinhua news agency reported.
Among those killed was a senior general and a provincial security official.
Iraqi security forces have been fighting for months to retake control of key cities and towns in Anbar from IS militants, who had previously seized a major part of Anbar.
