At least 40 officers of a government body which denied that a terrorist caught in India was a Pakistani have been sacked for issuing fake identity cards.

All those dismissed are from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

They included a director general, a general manager, a deputy general manager, an intelligence officer and managers, Geo TV reported.

All of them operated out of NADRA offices in Karachi and were allegedly involved in issuing fake computerized national identity cards.
