In a massive reshuffle of the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in Uttar Pradesh, the state government late on Monday transferred 64 of them, a Home Department official said.
Among the transferred officials are 16 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) and Superintendents of Police (SP)-level officers, including Vaibhav Krishna who has been made the new SSP of Noida.
Ajay Pal, the district police chief of Noida has been sent to the Police Headquarters, Allahabad. Babloo Kumar, who was till now the SSP of Mathura, has now been shifted to Azamgarh as the new SP. Akaash Kulhari has been named the new SSP of Aligarh, while Satyartha Aniruddh Pankaj has been shifted as the new SP of Mathura, the parliamentary constituency of actress-turned-politician Hema Malini.
Sanjeev Tyagi has been made the new SP of Bijnore, while Siddhartha Shankar Meena has been made the new police chief of Hathras. Manoj Kumar Sonkar is the new SP of Pilibhit and Devendra Nath would take over as the new SP of Ballia.
Besides, 16 ADG and IG-level officers have also been transferred. They include Ramit Sharma, who has been made the new IG of Moradabad Zone, Gyaneshwar Tiwari is the new IG of PAC (Eastern Zone) and S.K. Bhagat has been named as the new IG of the all-important Lucknow Zone.
In all, 32 DIG-level officers have been transferred in the rejig of the IPS cadre officers in Uttar Pradesh. Rajesh Kumar Pandey has been named the new DIG of Bareilly and Anil Kumar Rai, the DIG of Banda, among others.
